Coalport Tea Set
Porcelain, c. 1810-1820
These pieces are part of an extensive tea service that belonged to Bazil Gordon (1766-1847), a prominent merchant from Falmouth, Virginia. Bazil's older brother, Samuel Gordon (1759-1843), was the owner of Kenmore from 1819 until his death. This service was likely made at the Coalport China Works in England, c. 1810-1820.
