George Washington's Birthday Celebration at Ferry Farm

Celebrate George Washington's 282nd birthday at his boyhood home. Enjoy crafts, games, exhibits, live history performances, the Stone Throw Challenge (weather permitting), and birthday cake!

Archaeology Day at Ferry Farm

Monday, February 17, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Visit Washington’s boyhood home for behind-the-scenes tours of the archaeology lab and dig site as well as activities for children and dramatic presentations. New programs include Colonial Grossology—an examination of all things gross in the 18th century, and the exhibit, "Take an Ounce of Suffolk Cheese: The Science of Mary’s Mended China"—a look at 18th-century glues and Washington family china artifacts.

Stafford 350th

Tell Your Stafford Story

In collaboration with the 350th Anniversary Blue Ribbon Committee, the Foundation will introduce this project at the George Washington Birthday Celebration event. Whether your memories are of a notable resident, a historic event, or experiences at Washington’s Ferry Farm, we invite you to Tell Your Stafford Story! Stories will be recorded at Ferry Farm and other sites throughout the year. Learn More...

Historic Kenmore and Ferry Farm reopen for the season on Monday, March 17. Visit both National Historic Landmarks to see the Kenmore refurnishing in progress and enjoy an iPad tour of Washington’s boyhood home. June 23-27 – History Camp
