Crossing to Freedom

Saturday, April 11 & Sunday, April 12
10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

A dramatic theatre presentation set during the Civil War. With the Union Army occupying Fredericksburg, the city’s residents – free and enslaved – react to the army’s arrival with a mixture of fear and hope. This program is staged at both Historic Kenmore and Washington’s Ferry Farm and the experience includes a trolley ride with a historian between the sites. Learn More...

Spring is a perfect time to tour Historic Kenmore! A current focus of the comprehensive refurnishing project is the Drawing Room. Highlights include the addition to its walls of the Charles Willson Peale and John Wollaston portraits as well as the return of the conserved gaming table.
