Help advance all the good work at Historic Kenmore and Washington’s Ferry Farm, including archaeology, preservation, and curatorial initiatives as well as educational programs for both children and life-long learners alike. Gifts of $25 or more may qualify the Foundation for additional funding from thousands of dollars in prizes!

Sally Harman, who holds a Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the Rhode Island School of Design, will give a talk on garden design with herbs—highlighting how their rich history and functionality allow these aromatic plants to be more than just ornaments in the garden. Shakespeare on the Lawn at Kenmore

Saturdays: June 14 & 21, 7:00 p.m.

Sundays: June 15 & 22, 7:00 p.m.

Plan to attend a performance of Shakespeare on the Lawn at Kenmore. In its 11th year, the Fredericksburg Players, directed by Fred Franklin, will present Macbeth in a colonial style—similar to the theatre that entertained a young George Washington. Saturday: June 7 – Native Plant Walk at Ferry Farm

A new program, and part of a series of native plant walks at both sites. Join archaeologist Mara Kaktins at 10:30 a.m. for a tour examining trees, herbs, and weeds used by American Indians and the colonists for medicine, food, and other needs.

 

Friday: July 4 – The Fourth of July at Ferry Farm
