Join us at George Washington’s Ferry Farm on Friday, September 12, for a day of archaeological exploration designed for homeschoolers and their families. Participants will tour the replica Washington House, excavate artifacts from our teaching pits, and mend broken archaeological finds. Staff archaeologists will be on hand to answer questions and showcase some of the most fascinating objects recovered from Ferry Farm.

Attendees can also play colonial games, explore the Ferry Farm Visitor Center, enjoy a picnic lunch on our grounds, walk along the scenic Rappahannock River, and complete a variety of self-guided, take-home activities.

Each session capped at 25 total participants.

Session 1:
10:00 to 10:25: Family-friendly House tour
10:30 to 11:00: Simulated dig
11:05 to 11:30: Mending (pavilion)

Session 2:
11:00 to 11:25: Family-friendly House tour
11:30 to 12:00: Simulated dig
12:05 to 12:30: Mending (pavilion)

Session 3:
12:30 to 12:55: Family-friendly House tour
1:00 to 1:30: Simulated dig
1:35 to 2:00: Mending (pavilion)

Price: $6/student, $4/adult. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Preregistration required by September 5.
